Evolect is a private record. This page says what data exists, where it lives, and who can see it, in plain language.

What Evolect stores

Data is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) in the United States. Access rules make it readable only by you. The people you share with get exactly the access you set, checked on the server for every request.

Sharing is always your choice

Nothing is visible to anyone else until you share a focus area with a person you name. A share covers one focus area, within a date range and permissions you control, and every share has an end date, so access ends on its own even if you never revoke it. Revoke at any time and their access ends immediately. Moments you mark as sensitive are excluded unless you explicitly include them.

AI features

Some features generate text with an AI model (Google's Gemini, through Firebase): summaries you request, and guidance from Evolect's virtual guide when you invite it. Only the content within the scope you shared for that purpose is sent for processing. AI-generated text is always labeled as Evolect's in the app. The virtual guide keeps notes you can read yourself and a count of how often it has spoken up; removing it removes everything it holds.

Email and notifications

Evolect sends transactional email through Resend: guide invitations and acceptances, a notice when a guide comments or submits a review, copies of reviews, and optional weekly digests for guides. Sign-in emails — verification and password reset — come from Firebase Authentication. Push notifications, if you turn them on, are delivered by Apple. The website's "notify me" list is separate and used for a single launch announcement — no newsletter, and your address is never shared or sold.

Analytics and crash reports

The app sends usage events and crash reports to Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: identifiers, counts, and which screens were used — never what you write. This website loads nothing from third parties and runs no analytics.

Deletion

Deleting your account in the app removes your moments, reflections, attachments, shares, and guidance content. Feedback you wrote on someone else's focus area is anonymized rather than deleted, because it is part of their record. Backups age out afterward, within the 30 days our retention policy allows.
