Evolect is a private record. This page says what data exists, where it lives, who can see it, and what protects it, in plain language.

What Evolect stores

• Your account: email address and the name you provide. If you turn on notifications, a device token so Apple can deliver them.
• What you write: moments, details, reflections, and each focus — a part of your life, like your work — with its goal.
• What you attach: photos, documents and voice memos you add to a moment.
• Context you choose to add: a place name or weather for a moment. Location is used once to resolve these and is never kept as coordinates.
• What you generate: AI summaries and reports you ask for. Export My Data is built on your device and never uploaded.
• Guidance: the people you invite (their email address and name), what each of them may see, and the comments and reviews they write. Guides may also keep private working notes about the focus you shared; those notes are theirs, and you don’t see them.

What protects it

Your moments, reflections and attachments, and the comments and reviews on them, are sealed on your device before they leave it. Evolect’s servers, on Google Firebase in the United States, store them as ciphertext they can’t read.

Keys decide which moments a guide can open: those in the focus you shared with them, and never a moment you mark sensitive. The server decides the rest of a share’s bounds: which dates it covers, whether reflections and attachments are included, when it ends, and what the guide may do.

Encryption doesn’t cover what the service needs to work: names and dates, each moment’s kind and whether it’s marked sensitive, and each focus’s name, which can appear on your Lock Screen and in emails. The purposes you give a guide aren’t encrypted either; their invitation email carries them. Nor does encryption cover what is sent to Gemini, described below.

Sharing is always your choice

Nothing is visible to anyone else until you share a focus with a person you name. A share covers one focus, within dates and permissions you control, and a guide’s access has an end date, so it ends on its own even if you never end it yourself. A moment you mark sensitive is never shared.

Ending a share stops what reaches them from then on. It can’t take back what they’ve already seen.

AI features

Some features run on your device and send nothing anywhere. Others use Google’s Gemini, through Firebase. Google can read what Gemini is sent, and a moment you mark sensitive is never sent. Each use has its own consent:

• Summaries, Ask Evolect and Evolect’s guide send the moments each one uses, only after you answer Use Gemini? You can change your answer in Settings.
• Guide Prep helps a guide prepare. It runs on the guide’s device only when you have turned on Allow Guide Prep for that guide, which is off until you do, and the guide has answered Use Gemini? themselves. It sends the moments that guide can see, with the guide’s own Approach and Working Notes.

AI-generated words are always labeled as Evolect’s in the app. Evolect’s guide keeps notes you can read yourself; removing it removes everything it holds.

Email and notifications

Evolect sends transactional email through Resend: invitations and acceptances, a notice when a guide comments or submits a review, a note to a guide for each review they send, and optional weekly digests for guides. Sign-in emails — verification and password reset — come from Firebase Authentication. Push notifications, if you turn them on, are delivered by Apple. The website’s “notify me” list is separate and used for a single launch announcement — no newsletter, and your address is never shared or sold.

Analytics and crash reports

The app sends usage events and crash reports to Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: identifiers, counts, and which screens were used — never what you write. This website loads nothing from third parties and runs no analytics.

Deletion

Deleting your account in the app removes your moments, reflections, attachments, shares, and guidance content. Comments and reviews you wrote on someone else’s moments are anonymized rather than deleted, because they are part of their record. Backups age out afterward, within the 30 days our retention policy allows.

What Evolect doesn’t do

• No advertising, and no sale of personal data.
• No tracking across other apps or websites.
• No training of AI models on your content.
